It is a finite duration discrete frequency sequence which is obtained by sampling one period of fourier transform. We developed a function to perform DFT of N point Signal and observed the effect of zero padding on magnitude spectrum. Spacing between the values reduces as the value of N increases. Also the quality of th spectrum improves. By appending zeros to the input, the power spectrum can be evaluated over a fuller range of frequencies. The resolution error reduces.

Discrete Fourier transform is the most favored transform for computational devices as the signal and the spectrum are both discrete and periodic, and hence can be stored
